Getting-Into-A-GMAC Lease
GMAC has always been accommodating to prospective new customers wanting to take over a GMAC lease and will continue to ensure the process is efficient.
GMAC along with the participating GMAC dealer-body will help find solutions to improve the lease transfer process.

Getting-Out-Of-A-GMAC Lease
If you want to get out of your GMAC lease for whatever the reason,
GMAC and the participating GMAC dealer-body are now even more prepared to assist you in this quest.
In the past, getting-out-of a vehicle lease early was often very difficult, stressful and potentially costly.
Today the process is significantly easier and more transparent.
Leasebusters, GMAC and the participating GMAC dealer-body are committed to make the 'getting-out'
procedure as straightforward and uncomplicated as possible.
Every lease is different; therefore it is very important to have your vehicle evaluated and assessed by your new car dealer.
Use the following guide to assist you with your mission.
Participating Dealerships: Contact your new car dealership to find out if it is a participating
GMAC/Leasebusters dealer affiliate. If your dealership is an affiliated dealership,
simply speak with the designated lease-take-over representative who will assist you with the next steps.
All participating dealership affiliates are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to direct you professionally and appropriately.
Leasebusters Commitment: If you wish to deal directly with Leasebusters rather than use the services of your new car dealership,
we will provide GMAC customers with a $50.00 discount from our regular registration fee. |

Transferring Your GMAC SmartLease
GMAC is committed to an uncomplicated and seamless transfer of your lease.
Once Leasebusters.com has found someone to take over the balance of your GMAC lease,
the following process and procedure occurs:
- A credit application is submitted to GMAC by the original selling dealership or directly by the prospective new customer.
- Once the credit application has been approved,
GMAC will require completion and execution of the lease transfer documents by both parties
(the original lessee and the new lessee).
Information and documentation relating to the licensing of the vehicle will also be provided.
- Upon successful execution of the lease transfer documents; the paperwork is couriered back to GMAC
(including all requested documentation and the transfer fee).
- GMAC completes the final execution of the documentation and transfers the lease obligation to the new customer.
- GMAC fully removes the obligation of the original lessee upon the lessee's
final execution of the lease transfer documentation.
** Important – Please Note **
Reductions in GST (non GST registrants only) which may exist on some consumer leases, are not transferable
from the original lessee to the new lessee (assignee). As a result, full GST would be chargeable on the
monthly lease payment.
